• A friend of mine bought that, but from what she told me, I thought you had to go there and run the restaurant yourself, in a similar way to Open for Business style Lots. So, does the person who owns the Bistro have to go there and run it themself? Or can I take other sims on the Lot and control them?
  I wanted to have a restaurant I could walk in and tell my sims to sit down, have a nice meal, and actually sit at the same table.

  No, it works either way. Your active sims can hire staff and run the restaurant, which I found incredibly annoying as far as trying to make a living goes, or just have it as an open venue to visit and have/share a meal. I usually do it the second way and add other things to the lot, like a LN bar upstairs for pre-dinner cocktails, maybe some video games or other things to do on the lot, or it can just be used as is.
  Edit: But just to point out, as far as store content goes, it is kind of flawed without a mod to fix things which I can recommend if you like. Works well unmodded for some players, but for others the chefs/waiters keep quitting even while your sim is trying to order a meal.

  is the mod you are talking about Business as usual Bistro set by Ani? as if so I downloaded that and it was fantastic until many of us experienced a disembodied voice which we cannot seem to do anything about so I had to uninstall, however if you know of another mod that would help with that set would you mind letting me know which it is thanks

  That's exactly the one. Disembodied voice? I'm sure Ani would like to know about that if it hasn't been brought to her attention at MTS yet. She is still quite active and recently fixed a minor bug with her No Shopping from the Fridge mod when it was brought to her attention by some of us at NRaas who were testing something else alongside it.

• @CatvanderMiau, another mod you might like to consider is this one:
  Eat Outside Diners & ALL Restaurants
  As you can probably guess from the title, it enables the Eat Outside option for Diners and other restaurants, as well as Bistros, so long as they have outside seating on the lot, which most do.
  But it adds other options also to the Eat Outside interaction. You can choose what to order from a menu for your active Sims and it will also push a group of Sims to eat together if there is space available.
  
• @sirguylittle - That one is amazingly great as well, but a bit more dependent on at least fair weather conditions. I have both in my game.

  @igazor, that is true, but you can get around that one by building an enclosed dining area. I have combined that with using a Diner rabbit hole rug in a back room where they go to get their food, then come out to eat at the tables which are still inside
  (You just need to remember to select Eat Outside)
  
• Okay, I just looked at the mod page on MTS and the disembodied voice issue has been reported. Not sure how often that really happens and am surprised I hadn't heard of it until now. I suspect that Ani is working on a fix already, provided she has the time.

  yeah it appears some don't experience it but many have and unfortunately I am one of those that that has.

  Icemunmun on Mod the Sims has a ton. There's a whole custom foods interactions thing there. I believe there's a different on on the Sims 4 Studio site but I've never used it.

  I am uncertain how these play with the custom food interactions from MTS, so I haven't tried them. Leniad (the second link) has a bunch of custom foods, some of them are already on MTS but there are others.

• I used icemunmun for the longest time, but the last big update broke it for me and caused my game to freeze at random times during play. If its fixed now its a really good mod and has a lot of options including customer harvestables.

  I would say the only big culture represented is Asian, but there are also Louisiana influenced recipes. If you have a specific dish you'd like to see you could reach out and request. There are also some on Tumblr.
  If you do download the mod, download the files 'without custom harvestables' as the harvestables will conflict with seasons unless they've been updated. Downloading without the CC will save you a headache in the future.
